IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) is a French research and training player in the fields of energy, mobility and the environment.

IFPEN is involved in the development of technologies for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass and the production of biofuels and key bio-based chemical intermediates.

Two tools are designed considering soils: one to enable gas monitoring and especially measure soils respiration; the other one to measure and quantify organic matter in soils and a soil’s capacity to store carbon.

IFPEN also carries out life cycle analyses and technical and economic studies on the use of biomass for energy, mobility and industry.
