This Canada event proposes a technical panel discussion on De-risking Canadian Investments and Scaling Up Clean Fuels: Pathways to Market Competitiveness, and Global Dialogue.

Participants to this Canada event will be welcomed by Mehdi Lakhdari (Natural Resources Canada).

The event will start with two presentations sharing the “Made in Canada” approaches to de-risk investments and reduce certain sources of uncertainties related to the scaling-up of clean fuels production and deployment.

The first Canadian presentation entitled “Scaling-up Clean Fuels with BDO Zone Ratings” will be given by Jordan Solomon President and CEO of Ecostrat (Toronto, Canada). The second Canadian presentation entitled “De-risking Bioeconomy Innovation: How I-BIOREF Tool Supports the Scale-Up of Sustainable Industries and Clean Fuels in Canada” and will be given by Dr. Marzouk Benali, Research manager at Natural Resources Canada (CanmetENERGY in Varennes, Canada).

Presentations will be followed by a roundtable discussion between Canadian and international panelists. Discussions will focus on two questions:

• What strategies the industry is currently using to reduce technical, financial, and market risks associated with deploying new liquid fuels projects?
• What are the most critical strategies to accelerate the scale-up of clean fuels, and how can stakeholders collaborate to overcome existing barriers?

Panelists with their international perspective will be sharing their approaches on de-risking and accelerating scaling-up.
