BioBased Circular

BioBased Circular is a National Growth Fund programme accelerating the Netherlands’ transition to climate-neutral, circular materials. It supports the development of a competitive biobased industry producing materials such as packaging, resins, coatings, and textiles that match fossil-based alternatives in performance, appeal, and cost. By replacing fossil carbon with renewable, plant-based resources, the programme drives systemic change, thereby focussing on carbohydrate based polyesters. BioBased Circular works from four pillars: advancing knowledge, creating enabling conditions, removing value chain barriers, and co-financing scale-up, thereby accelerating innovation and market adoption of sustainable materials.
