EUBCE sustainability choices
Paper-less event
The organizer is conscious of the environmental impact that EUBCE may have. We believe that, in collaboration with our participants, exhibitors, and partners, we can make a positive difference. To reduce waste, we are committed to promoting a paperless event and expo. We will invite everyone to download the EUBCE App for up-to-date information on the programme and exhibition. Only the EUBCE Pocket Guide will be produced, featuring a compact format that includes only essential information. This guide is printed on recycled paper sourced from FSC-certified forests. The FSC certification guarantees that these forests are managed in a way that protects biodiversity, upholds conservation values, and carefully monitors the environmental and social impacts of forest management. We also encourage all exhibitors to focus on digital solutions. Together, we can significantly reduce our environmental footprint. Additionally, event bags are made from recycled materials, and leftover lanyards will be collected after the event to further reduce waste.
Accessible venue & public transport
València has an extensive public transport network which includes electric and hybrid buses. In addition, it has more than 160 km of bike lanes and five million square metres of parks and gardens.
Catering
The EUBCE catering menu is primarily vegetarian, featuring ingredients sourced from local suppliers and designed around the availability of organic and seasonal produce. We prioritize the use of reusable crockery and cutlery, and we are actively working to replace disposable plastics with compostable or biodegradable alternatives.
To further reduce waste, we encourage attendees to bring a reusable water bottle.
Food donation
EUBCE partners with a local association to ensure that any food surplus is donated daily, contributing to the reduction of food waste and supporting those in need within the community.
Waste management
We are collaborating closely with the venue and our suppliers to minimize waste both during and after the event.
We provide color-coded waste bins at our facilities to help separate and properly dispose of organic waste, paper, and plastic. This system makes it easy for participants to contribute to our recycling and waste reduction efforts.
The Valencia Conference Centre
Constructed with green architecture, the building reflects a commitment to environmental responsibility and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, fulfilling its ultimate purpose of promoting sustainable practices.
