SteamBioAfrica

SteamBio Ltd. was established halfway through SteamBio Project (EU Grant Agreement 636865). The company was set up to progress the technical innovations from that project into large-scale, replicable, commercial deployment.

The core of our innovations is a continuous Superheated Steam Process operating at temperatures of up to 260oC. At these temperatures and in an inert atmosphere, biomass undergoes thermochemical changes, often referred to as torrefaction.

We are currently validating our stable and affordable process in SteamBioAfrica (EU Grant Agreement 101036401) where we aim to transform encroacher bush into high value, clean burning solid biofuel, and a source of novel biochemicals.
