The circular economy has a huge potential to make our societies more sustainable and decarbonized, with a reduced impact on the planet’s resources. However, numerous regulatory bottlenecks hinder the full deployment of revolutionary solutions in the field of urban biowaste valorization and re-use.
In this framework, five Horizon 2020 projects have teamed up (ROOTS initiative) to promote innovative solutions for the European circular bioeconomy and bring down the regulatory barriers blocking a more sustainable future.
