Setúbal Cogeneration and Dedicated Biomass Power Plants

The Navigator Company

The tour will enable conference participants to experience and learn about a power facility where biomass is the key renewable feedstock in the production of renewable energy, biofuels, biochemicals and biomaterials.

SETÚBAL COGENERATION AND DEDICATED BIOMASS POWER PLANTS THE NAVIGATOR COMPANY

The Navigator Company is Europe’s leading manufacturer of uncoated woodfree paper (UWF), the category that includes office paper, and the 6th largest producer. It is also the leading European manufacturer of bleached eucalyptus pulp (BEKP) and one of the largest in the world.  The Company has an installed capacity for electrical energy production of 2,5 TWh yearly.

  • 2 renewable biomass cogeneration (thermal and electrical energy)
  • Dedicated biomass power plant (electrical energy)
  • Combined cycle natural gas cogeneration (thermal and electrical energy)
  • Solar photovoltaic power plant (in self consumption regime)
