Welcome to the 24th EUBCE in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE) is a world class annual event which, since 1980, is held at different venues throughout Europe.
The EUBCE covers the entire value chain of biomass to conduct business, network, and to present and discuss the latest developments and innovations, the vision is to educate the biomass community and to accelerate growth.
The EUBCE will host a dynamic international Exhibition for companies and research labs to showcase their latest products and bringing scientists, technologists and key players together with leading Biomass industries and organizations.
Message from the Conference General Chairman
" The deployment of biomass for production of power, heat, transportation fuels, renewable feedstock and materials has become one of the most complex, promising, politicized and debated options we have at our disposal to combat climate change and create a sustainable energy system.
State-of-the-art analysis strongly confirms the necessity of large scale biomass deployment to meet the maximum GMT change of 2 – 1.5 oC. The Paris Agreement fortunately led to global consensus for deep GHG emission reduction. The IPCC made clear in its latest 5th assessment report that all key mitigation options (increased energy efficiency across the board, all renewables, carbon capture and storage) need to deliver in the coming 4 decades on a vast scale AND that 250-300 EJ (a quarter to a third the worlds energy supply in the second half of this century) may need to come from biomass to make that possible. With those targets, the need for negative emissions (combined deployment of biomass with carbon capture and storage) is deemed necessary on a large scale.
Message from the Technical Programme Chairman
Dear Participant of the 24th European Biomass Conference
On behalf of the scientific and industry committee, it is a great pleasure to invite you to be part of the 24th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE). The conference has a great tradition extending over the last 30 years addressing topics from biomass itself, to conversion processes for biofuels, bioenergy and biorefineries, to industrial applications of research results and to political policies and impacts on the environment.

Testimonials from 23rd EUBCE
You have to attend this conference to ensure that your research is relevant to industry and the wider scientific community.
It was amazing place and I met a lot useful people for my research work. Many thanks to conference!
Memorable for me as an Asian participant.
Excellent organisation and structure, great opportunities for networking & getting up to date information on the major research issues and industrial progress for biomass, bioenergy, biofuels and bioeconomy.
Rich in informations with the attendance of notorious speakers. Annual check point of the progress made on biomass conversion for a more sustainable future.
Very informative display of research and technology in terrestrial and aquatic biomass from around the world.
Good conference, especially B2B matchmaking was great and helpful for making of contacts for future.
