BioREFINE-2G: Utilisation of Waste Streams for Bioproducts and Bioenergy

Monday 12 June 2017
13:00 - 17:00

The project BioREFINE-2G aims at developing commercially attractive processes for efficient conversion of pentose-rich side-streams from biorefineries into dicarboxylic acids, which can be used as precursors for bio-based polymers including biodegradable polymers.

This workshop will present and discuss results from the BioREFINE-2G project with focus on innovative approaches and value chains towards the efficient utilisation of biorefinery waste streams for bioproducts and bioenergy.

Wood Stoves 2020 - Towards high efficiency and low emissions

Tuesday 13 June 2017
13:30 - 17:00

The ERANET-Project "Wood Stove 2020" has made a comprehensive development approach to provide technological solutions for improved log wood stoves. The scope of the technical measures is wide, it includes stove development by CFD, catalyst integration or retrofitting, identification of suitable sensors and integration into automatic control systems, improving stove efficiency by PCM heat storage and by preventing standing losses via the chimney. The goal is to reach an emission reduction of 50 – 80%, compared to the current staate-of-the-art, and to increase stove efficiency by 8 %.

Future Biorefineries from raw materials to bio-products: development and analysis

Thursday 15 June 2017
09:00 - 15:00

The workshop will host contributions on biorefinery development projects.

The inspiring principle is that not only technology development, but also process integration, life cycle and environmental impact analyses must be considered in the design and realization of future sustainable biorefineries. The event is hosted by the BioBuf consortium, composed by researchers from Chalmers University of Technology and RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) developing a biorefinery study in which forest residue and micro-algae are converted to adipic acid, aromatic and other added-value chemicals.

Organise a workshop or a project meeting or your own event during the 25th EUBCE.

This would get you good exposure in a biomass event with over 1.500 participants from both research and industry without the high cost of participating in and organising your own event in a separate context. Meeting rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
This will offer you high visibility and an opportunity to reach the most important international key players and get in touch with stakeholders in one of the most important networking opportunities.

The requirements to organise your Workshop or Project Meeting are:

  • All participants must be registered as conference participants either for the day of the workshop/meeting or the full week registration.
  • Event title and list of registered speakers have to be provided by a fixed deadline.
You can choose to have a closed meeting or to open the meeting to interested conference delegates.

More reasons why you should organise a Workshop or a Meeting within the 25th EUBCE:

  • The EUBCE 2017 Annual Event is expected to gather:
    • Over 1. 500 participants
    • Over 70 exhibitors
  • The EUBCE marketing campaign works for you too:
    • A strong marketing campaign will reach and engage a high number of targeted professionals in the biomass sector. Holding your workshop or project meeting in the framework of the 25th EUBCE means instant advertising for you because your event becomes part of our complimentary programme.
  • Key marketing tools that will secure enhanced visibility for EUBCE 2017 include:
    • + 100 adverts in leading biomass energy magazines reaching professionals in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
    • Continuous presence in all major online portals of biomass and renewable professionals.
    • Continuous updates and EUBCE news in social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter Distribution of promotional event materials, visibility and promotion at all major biomass energy events.
